چکیده

• Species size distribution dynamics in mixed forests were explored using a matrix model. Warming modifies species of mountain spruce-fir-beech forests. positively effects stand basal area fir but negatively beech. Increasing temperature favors the size-dominance over spruce and Size-dominant identity influences Forest composed Picea abies L. , Abies alba Mill. Fagus sylvatica cover large European regions have high ecological socio-economic importance as they supply many ecosystems services. Because climate change, these are exposed to warming, this effect increases with elevation, which may impact their delivery goods Previous studies did not find significant changes overall productivity last 30 years, observed competitiveness at tree levels. In study, we aimed link previous results on tree, level growth by analysing under different conditions growth. We developed model based data from 76 long-term experimental plots distributed throughout Europe. used change explore whether dominances proportions, depend dominance, dominance varies temperature. Our showed that annual mean is an important climatic driver forests, such was favored higher temperatures, particularly due positive responses silver greater than negative The temperatures also fir, while beech tended smaller diameters, independent found size-dominant influenced area, highest or lowest when Norway species, respectively. Silver less Therefore, although be resilient systems terms productivity, conclude increasing modify consequently silvicultural interventions will needed control proportions dominances.

Fitting Tree Height Distributions in Natural Beech Forest Stands of Guilan (Case Study: Masal)

In this research, modeling tree height distributions of beech in natural forests of Masal that is located in Guilan province; was investigated. Inventory was carried out using systematic random sampling with network dimensions of 150×200 m and area sample plot of 0.1 ha. DBH and heights of 630 beech trees in 30 sample plots were measured. Beta, Gamma, Normal, Log-normal and Weibull prob...

Ungulate Impact on Natural Regeneration in Spruce-Beech-Fir Stands in Černý důl Nature Reserve in the Orlické Hory Mountains, Case Study from Central Sudetes

The paper presents the results of a study on tree regeneration of forest stands in the Černý důl Nature Reserve, which is situated in the Orlické hory Mountains Protected Landscape area in the Czech Republic. Research was conducted in a spruce-beech stand with an admixture of silver fir, sycamore maple and rowan on two comparative permanent research plots (PRPs) (PRP 1—fenced enclosure and PRP ...

Ponderosa Pine, Mixed Conifer, and Spruce-fir Forests

Before European settlement of the interior west of the United States, coniferous forests of this region were influenced by many disturbance regimes, primarily fires, insects, diseases, and herbivory, which maintained a diversity of successional stages and vegetative types across landscapes. Activities after settlement, such as fire suppression, grazing, and logging significantly altered these d...

Effects of Air Relative Humidity and Temperature on Photodegradation Processes in Beech and Spruce Wood

Spruce and beech samples were irradiated by UV light in humid (100% air humidity) and dry conditions to clarify the effects of vapor on photodegradation. UV-irradiated samples were also soaked in distilled water for comparison. The color change and the IR absorption spectra were measured. The wet condition generated considerably greater discoloration than did the dry condition. The intensity of...
